¡¡¡¡Crytek, the developer behind such titles as Crysis 3 and Homefront 2, doesn¡¯t have any plans to make games for the Wii U or PlayStation Vita at the moment. Founder and CEO Cevat Yerli shared the update in an interview with German site Golem.
¡¡¡¡Although Crytek won¡¯t be involved with Wii U software development, the studio¡¯s CryEngine technology will be incorporated into projects from other companies. Yerli sees Sony¡¯s handheld as appealing from a technical standpoint, but feels it could be too late to get involved with the platform from a business perspective.
¡¡¡¡Yerli said (rough translation):
¡¡¡¡¡°We don¡¯t have anything planned for either console. For the WiiU there will be games running on CryEngine, but they are from licensees. The PlayStation Vita is uncertain to us as a platform. On a technical level the Vita is appealing to me, without a doubt we could have fun with it. From a business perspective however it¡¯s somewhat too late.¡±
